Product information "Calibration at varying air temperature"
Measurements of temperature-induced effects are performed in a climate wind tunnel.
The whole wind tunnel is placed in an insulated and temperature-controlled chamber. Therefore, temperature-induced effects on the whole anemometer can be measured rather than relying on simple assumptions (e. g., for mechanical anemometers, temperature only influences bearing friction).
For the standard procedure, the measurement is performed at an air velocity of about 4 m/s to 15.5 m/s with 2 m/s increments. The air temperature is varied from -20 °C up to +40 °C. The measurements are performed at ambient pressure and normally with temperature increments of 5 °C.
On customer request, measurements can also be performed for a reduced temperature range and for a different increment size.
